Development of the imagination, social interaction with peers, problem-solving, and carrying tasks to completion are some of the major skills developed in the nursery class. The Nursery program is methodical, structured, blended curriculum-based and predominantly consists of teacher-guided activities.

The class comes together to recite, sing, count, read, repeat, listen to a teacher told story. Repeating and remembering what is told by the teacher builds memory. The ability to sit and listen to a non-family member for a sustained period is developed at nursery level. Teachers through their continuous communication expose children to the beauty of the English language which improves a child’s vocabulary and literacy skills. At this stage children also develop motor / visual learning skills and the ability to focus on a task and follow directions for a reasonably good time.  Large motor skills, imagination and creativity, social skills, and natural science are built upon too.

The curriculum is structured and integrated with guided play with set learning outcomes that make children partake in, and initiate activities that awaken their imagination and develop fine and gross motor skills, which will later grow into emotional and academic capacities. The subjects are carefully selected to provide practical knowledge and creativity. Being a Waldorf inspired school, the arts, studying and taking inspiration and live examples from nature are an integral part of the curriculum. TBPSB’s Nursery classroom is a caring place with very experienced teachers and carers who strive to encourage children to be true to themselves and their heritage. Teachers bring interest and enthusiasm to the classroom.

At the Nursery level, children begin to apply their learnings and extend the skills to get a sensory experience.
