Admission Procedure

TBPSB is a unique model of learning that works best for students who are highly motivated, self-sufficient, intellectually curious, and community-oriented. To understand the child and the family better, the registration form and admission form seeks to ask required information in detail.  This enables us to know each other well. So take your time and fill the forms by giving complete and correct information. Admission is non-discriminatory and open to all students as per the age norms specified by the Govt. of Karnataka, as applicable from time to time.

Step 1

Book a meeting with the School-Coordinator (online or offline)

The best way to start the admission process is to meet the School-Coordinator and to find out what makes TBPSB School special and get the vibe of the school by talking with the school Trustees and a visit to the concerned classroom.

Step 2

Application Form

If you are ready to enroll your child to TBPSB, you will need to create an account on our CoolGurukul platform and start your registration process.  To submit your application you must fill out the application form on our platform and upload the following supporting documents:

  • Child’s Birth Certificate;
  • Copies of parents’ IDs (Aadhaar card/details page from passport)
  • Transfer Documents – Evaluation Card / Report from the previous school;
  • Medical Certificate – If applicable
  • Child and parents photographs (passport size-4 Nos)
  • Copy of the Immunization schedule issued by the doctor

Step 3

Entrance Assessment / Interview

The teacher together with the Trustee might want to spend a bit of time with the child to determine to which class can the child be admitted at the school. The child should join the class that is per her/his age to be among the right age cohorts. Children will be assessed using a variety of age-appropriate tools including oral discussions, oral reading as well as reading comprehension tests and writing samples where appropriate. The purpose of the assessment is to help determine the nature of the support needed rather than entry to the school.

Step 4

File admission and final acceptance

Once the evaluation has been made and entry to the decided class has been confirmed, the next step is to pay the registration fee thereby confirming the enrolment in the school.

Step 5

Consent forms and Declarations – Sign-off

You are required to sign the following forms:

  1. Consent for posting pictures in school’s FB page, Instagram and CoolG
  2. Consent for field trips
  3. Consent for proactive participation in parent related activities

Generally, we have about 100 students enrolled at TBPSB.

Class Size: The maximum class size is 17.

At the Trustee’s discretion, the school may exceed this class size by 1 (to a maximum of 18) considering that the school can provide both a large enough classroom and appropriate support to the classroom teacher.

English is the language of instruction at TBPSB. This means educational programs are taught in English from Early Years through kindergarten to Prep School. English is offered as a subject of study in the curriculum.

If your child is applying for programs Toddlers or Nursery, English language proficiency is not a mandatory condition. However, if she/he is applying for Junior or Senior Kindergarten level, English level will have to be assessed.

TBPSB teachers are required to be graduates with a valid teaching experience. Their traits and suitability to be with the children is even more critical in their selection process.

At TBPSB, approximately 75% of staff are experienced and well qualified teachers.

Our programme starts at Early Toddlers for children aged 2 years or older on May 1st.

Age cut off date is May 1st.

We offer our students the chance to pre-enrol from February onwards. New enrolments can be made at any time throughout the year depending on the availability since we follow the student to teacher ratio diligently.

We can integrate a limited number of students with additional needs per class. This is however strictly considered as per the child’s doctor recommendation and also to maintain the highest standard of care and attention.

The Learning Support team at TBPSB School coordinates programs and services for students with additional needs, based on the accepted model. This developmental model offers a holistic child approach, taking into account their individual differences and fostering emotional connection through relationships.

At TBPSB we offer snack and lunch only to our daycare children that are cooked by us personally.

TBPSB students do have to wear a uniform, however Wednesdays are exempted and students can come in colour dress on this day of the week.

Transport will be arranged at an additional cost.

TBPSB offers quality after-school workshops expanding learning opportunities that support developmentally appropriate cognitive, social, physical, and emotional outcomes. All our afterschool programs run directly after school.

Report Cards are sent home at the end of the each term. On the reports, each core subject is divided into learning outcomes based upon NCERT, CBSE, EYFS and Waldorf standards – curriculum standards that form the core of the curriculum. They also write comments about student progress.  Student traits and strengths/weaknesses are reported separately from academic criteria in the reports.

At TBPSB we believe that regular, modest amounts of homework form an important element for improving student learning and developing the skills and attitudes that will support in their continued education and building on their confidence levels.
