Junior Toddlers
TBPSB’s Early Childhood Program is designed as a sensory-rich environment for children to discover what lies in the world and to become aware of themselves and the environment. We are in the process of developing a highly receptive sensory centre which we call TSR (Toddler’s Sensory Room). The space in this room is intentionally kept small and the room is comforting and calming with blue and white interiors. The teacher is warm and motherly. Teaching is all about giving a good experience to the child. The activities in this room are designed to encourage interaction between the teachers and the children. Teachers are aware that the child is for the first time moving away from the mother and hence they go all out in establishing bonding and creating positive attachments with the young children.
Children are encouraged to play. Children are encouraged to start making friends and have social connect. This is the centre where the child becomes aware of the goodness of friendship. Everything that happens in TSR is:
- Playing to learn
- Learning to play
- Making friends
- Sensory Stimulation
- Improved balance, movement, and spatial orientation
The teachers also assess for each child, the level of social communication, social interaction and social behaviour and sensory sensitivities.
